The Brixton Cycles Beastway Mountain Bike Series 2011 commences on May 18 running through until the last night on July 27. South London's Brixton Cycles and Torq remain as sponsors of the 10 round series, plus the ever-popular team race.
As ever the series is open to all categories, with new riders especially welcome to take part - seniors (inc. novices), women, veterans, juniors and youth riders. The youth riders will not be allowed to ride up this year.
The racing is held each Wednesday at 7.30pm for seniors and youth a little later.
The venue is Hog Hill (Redbridge Cycle Centre), over some great trials included the haunted caravan woodland section. Last summer the hot weather saw mini- chasms emerge in the mud and they added extra spice to the terrain.
For some it's a social thing for others its serious, very serious, but hopefully there is something for everyone.
- Every Wednesday from 18th May to 27th July
- 7.30pm at Hog Hill (Redbridge Cycling Centre), Forest Road, Hainault, Essex IG6 3HP
Your best 7 results from the 10 events will count towards your overall series score.
Team race
The final event on July 27th will be the popular Team Race and Series Prize giving.
The racing will once more be sponsored by Brixton Cycles.
Racing is at 7:30pm (youth at 8pm) each Wednesday evening from May 18 to July 27 at the Redbridge Cycling Centre, with weekly and series prizes for each category.
Entry is on the day, with no prior racing experience or licence necessary. Come and have a go at taming the beast.
The series will be using our transponder timing system which will require riders to pay a £4 registration charge when signing on for the first time. Riders keep their number board AND shoetag for the series.
